we installed Oracle in /oracle, i.e everything(database, logs etc) is under /oracle directory.

we want to replicate /oracle directory to another machine via rsync, and we will shutdown the Oracle before doing rsync.

My question here is, while Oracle is shutdown:

1 - can rsync incrementally replicates the Oracle db ?
2 - can rsync replicates other Oracle files(logs, archives, control, any other non-ascii) ?

Regards,

Oracle provides a script to duplicate an Oracle home without forgetting anything.
Currently I don't remember where it is but it is easy to search on the web.
